September Recap
September was an interesting month for a number of the industries and individual companies that we follow.
Standing out to us was that Navios Maritime Partners made a bid for four 8,850 TEU methanol ready scrubber-fitted vessels for total considerations of $460M backed by 5-year charters equaling $335M of aggregate contracted earnings with an option to extend that would add another $60M of cash flows.
This deal is penciled out at roughly 20% cash on cash returns and is further value add for an already market leading fleet by age, size, and diversity of ship sizes. Would it surprise anyone if I told you the market did not care about this latest development?
āOn September 8, 2025, Navios Partners agreed to acquire four 8,850 TEU newbuilding methanol-ready and scrubber-fitted Containerships from an unrelated third party, for a purchase price of $115.1 million each. The vessels have been chartered out at $44,145 net per day for a period of 5.2 years, with chartererās option for one additional year at $41,579 net per day and are expected to be delivered into Navios Partnersā fleet during the second half of 2027 and the first quarter of 2028. The closing of the transaction is subject to completion of customary documentation.ā - World Port

California Catastrophe: How Misguided Energy Policy Sets the Stage for Disaster and the Role of Sable Offshore in the California Energy Landscape Estimated Release Date: October 14th, 2025
In this piece we will talk about the utter failure from California politicians to set the state up for success from an energy perspective. In particular we will target recent legislation in the state that points to the need to grow production volumes to keep refining capacity from leaving the state of California. We will take a look at the history of California energy, the dynamics of its production capacity and refining capacity to include Kern County and how Sable Offshores production could help solve some of the states looming energy woes. We have scheduled calls to speak with no less than three California Energy Experts who have worked in Kern County fields, Refiners in the state and have experienced these developments in real time. We are really excited to get this piece out.
